Shakib and Mustafizur were the only two Bangladeshi players featured in the IPL 14.
Overseas players’ availability for the rescheduled Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) continues to be a massive challenge for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has now denied allowing its players for the UAE-led of the tournament.
The IPL 2021 was suspended on May 4 after the raising COVID-19 cases inside the bio-bubbles and now the BCCI planned to stage the second phase of the lucrative T20 league in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) amid the Coronavirus outbreak in September-October this year.

Well, the remainder of the IPL 14 will clash with the upcoming international fixtures and the most important tournament – ICC T20 World Cup 2021 to be played right after the T20 league in October-November – that most certainly force the cricket boards around the world not to allow its players for the cash-rich tournament in order to manage their physical and mental workload.
While England and Wales Cricket Board have already hinted at not allowing their players for the second phase of the IPL 14, Cricket Australia is yet to discuss the same with their players, and now Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has followed the footsteps of ECB over the matter.
On Monday, May 31, the BCB president Nazmul Hassan has made it clear that the board would not issue the No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and bowler Mustafizur Rahman for the upcoming UAE-led of the IPL 2021.
Nazmul told Ekattor TV, a local Bengali news channel: “It is almost impossible to provide NOC (for IPL) considering our international commitments. I don't see any chance of giving it (NOC) to them. We have the (T20) World Cup coming up and now every match is important.”
Noteworthy, Bangladesh is slated to play three white-ball series against Australia, New Zealand, and England during the September-October window when BCCI hosts the remaining 31 IPL games in the UAE.
