India has been worst hit by this second wave of COVID-19 as it registered around 4 lakh new cases in the last 24 hours, which is the highest since the pandemic started. There were positive cases inside the team’s bio-bubbles which caused IPL 2021 to be indefinitely suspended.

Amid this second wave of COVID-19, former India all-rounder Laxmi Ratan Shukla announced on Thursday to donate his entire IPL commentary fee to the West Bengal’s Chief Minister Relief Fund to contribute to the fight against COVID-19.

While the second wave of this deadly virus has hit the country badly, Shukla feels that we should try to do our bit in this fight and make the world a happy place again.

In this time of crisis, we must all try and do our bit so that we can fight the pandemic and make the world a happy place all over again. May we all win against this difficult time. I urge one and all to maintain hygiene and wear masks, avoid gatherings and stay safe,” the 40-year-old said.
