David Warner, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain, won the toss and decided to bat first on a typical Delhi pitch, which was expected to get slower as the game progresses. Manish Pandey and Sandeep Sharma came into the SRH playing XI, while Chennai Super Kings included Moeen Ali and Lungi Ngidi into the XI.

SRH made 171/3 thanks to half-centuries from David Warner (57) and Manish Pandey (61), while cameos from Kane Williamson (26* in 10 balls) and Kedar Jadhav (12* in 4 balls) pushed the total to over 170.

CSK fielders were on the top of their game in the entire match and helped their bowlers keep the run rate to a manageable one. Faf du Plessis stood out from others as he took an amazing diving catch to send back Manish Pandey who was looking a bit dangerous.

It was the 5th ball of the 18th over bowled by Lungi Ngidi and Pandey drilled the ball towards long-on. It would have sailed over the boundary for a six, by Faf soared in the air and plucks the out of thin air with both hands.

This was Manish Pandey’s comeback match after been dropped from the last couple of matches and Du Plessis ended what could have been a great end to good innings.
