RR suffered a 10-wicket loss against RCB in an IPL 14 encounter.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson while talking about his team’s performance against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in an IPL 2021 encounter said that they need to do some homework and need an honest review about our batting.
Royal Challengers Bangalore thrashed Rajasthan Royals by 10 wickets at Mumbai in their fourth match of IPL 14.
Invited to bat, RR didn’t have a great start as they lost their four wickets for just 43 runs. However, leading the rescue charge Shivam Dube (46) stitched 66 runs partnership with Riyan Prag (25) and then later finish by Rahul Tewatia helped Sanju Samson-led franchise post a fighting total of 177 runs.
Defending the target, their bowlers had no answers to the carnage by RCB openers Devdutt Padikkal (101*) and Virat Kohli (72*) as the duo smashed RR bowlers all over the park and completed a comfortable 10-wicket victory to register their fourth consecutive win of the season.
Reflecting on his team’s performance at the post-match presentation, RR skipper Sanju Samson said that their lower-middle order did well to put a decent target on the board but they need to do some homework on their batting.
“Our batsmen did really well to get a score on the board but they did really well to chase without losing a wicket. We need to do some homework and need an honest review about our batting. That's what this sport is all about, we keep on failing and we keep on coming about. It puts you down but you have to keep on fighting," Sanju Samson said during the post-match presentation.
With a 10-wicket loss against RCB, Rajasthan Royals slipped to the bottom of the points table. They will next face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 24th April at Mumbai.
