The 11th match of the IPL 2021 saw Punjab Kings (PBKS) take on Delhi Capitals (DC) in Mumbai on April 18, 2021, in the second encounter of the double-header. Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Steve Smith made his DC debut, while Lukman Meriwala made his DC and IPL debut. Jalaj Saxena finally made his IPL debut for PBKS.

The PBKS innings was the story of the 122-run opening partnership between KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal. The duo launched a calculated assault, with Agarwal showing the most intent as he was due for a good knock after scores of 14 and 0 in the previous two matches.

Agarwal smashed 69 in 36 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes. Special treatment was reserved for debutant Lukman Meriwala, as he went for 29 runs in his first two overs. Mayank fell to Meriwala in the end, becoming his first IPL wicket. They added 122 runs in 12.4 overs.

KL Rahul made 61 in 51 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes, as he celebrates his 29th birthday today.

PBKS had a decent end to their innings as Deepak Hooda made (22* in 13 balls) and Shahrukh Khan (15* off 5 balls) smashed some quick runs against Chris Woakes in the final over and posted 195/4 in 20 overs.

For DC, Woakes, Meriwala, Rabada, and Avesh got a wicket each.

The cricket fraternity was appreciative of the platform set by Mayank and KL Rahul on Twitter and here are some of the best tweets.
