Chahar was named Man of the Match for his 4/13 in his quota of 4 overs.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who is known for his fielding, displayed his brilliance on the field against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Friday (16 April) and his teammate Deepak Chahar wants 11 fielders like him on the field.
On the 5th ball of the third over, Jadeja removed PBKS skipper and in-form batsman KL Rahul with his quick pick up and amazing direct hit from short cover.
Whereas on 2nd over of the fifth over, when the ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle hit an airy shot towards the CSK all-rounder, he grabbed an absolute screamer to dismiss the explosive left-hand batsman.
“First over, when the catch went to Ruturaj, it was a quick one, only Jaddu could've taken that so I was like he should've been there. He's one of the best in the world, has taken so many catches off my bowling. I want 11 Jaddus on the field. I am always the one who starts the tone for the match,” Chahar said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
The right-arm quick who also bagged the Man of the Match award for picking up 4 wickets for just 13 runs in his quote of 4 overs feels that it is his responsibility to set the tone for CSK.
“I am always the one who starts the tone for the match. If I take a wicket or bowl a maiden over then obviously we can take the momentum. It's a big responsibility I've been having since the last four years and Mahi bhai has shown faith in me. Hopefully I can deliver in some more matches,” he said.
After winning against PBKS, MS Dhoni and Co. will be taking field against Rajasthan Royals on Monday (19 April) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
