However, De Villiers said he always enjoy batting against the SRH in the IPL.
Ahead of the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) IPL 2021 clash with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Wednesday (April 14), AB de Villiers said the SRH does not have as much depth as compared to the other teams in the ongoing 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021).
While Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lost their IPL 14 opening game against Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) started off their campaign on a winning note by thrashing Mumbai Indians in the tournament opener last week in Chennai.
Ahead of the RCB v SRH clash at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, De Villiers said he always enjoys playing against Hyderabad, but they don’t have “much depth” in the ongoing IPL 2021.
However, the RCB wicketkeeper-batsman said SRH are very smart and can challenge them with their skill, but once they get on top of them, Bangalore can easily dominate over David Warner and his team.
Although, the Proteas legend warned the RCB to make sure SRH would not make comeback on Wednesday, as they are very dangerous when they make comeback in the game.
De Villiers said in a video shared by RCB on Twitter: “It is a nice attack to face, it is a great challenge. I always enjoy playing against SunRisers Hyderabad. They can challenge you with their skill and they are always smart. It is a matter of us making sure that we get some partnerships and once we get on top of them, they are a kind of a team we can really dominate.”
He signed off by saying, “They do not have as much depth as some of the other teams in the IPL. If we get hold of them, we have to make sure that we do not allow them to make a comeback because that's where they are really dangerous.”
