Vaughan wanted Buttler to keep the wickets for Rajasthan Royals.
Former England skipper Michael Vaughan was not happy with the tactics of Rajasthan Royals (RR) as the franchise decided neither to use Jos Buttler as an opener or keeper in their opening game of the IPL 2021 campaign against KL Rahul’s Punjab Kings (PBKS).
While the right-hand batsman felt that with Buttler in their side, having him behind the wickets would be crucial as he took to twitter and wrote, “Having @josbuttler behind the stumps for his tactical experience is crucial ... Why isn’t he keeping @rajasthanroyals !???? #IPL2021.”

When it came chasing the huge target of 222 runs, England all-rounder Ben Stokes along with Manan Vohra walked out to bat, Vaughan was shocked to see no Buttler and decided to express his disappointment on social media.

Even after new RR skipper Sanju Samson’s fantastic ton, the Rajasthan-based franchise fell 4 runs short of their target. After PBKS, RR will take on Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals (DC) on 15 April at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
