IPL 2021: Mumbai Indians’ wicket-keeping consultant Kiran More tests COVID-19 positive

Kiran More is also the talent scout for Mumbai Indians.

Former India wicketkeeper and currently the wicket-keeping consultant of the five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians’ (MI) Kiran More has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, announced the franchise on their Twitter account, ahead of the IPL 2021.

Kiran More, who played for India from 1984-1993 appeared in 49 Tests and 94 ODI matches. He also played in the 1987 and 1992 World Cups for India and then transitioned into the coaching roles.

Currently, he is the talent scout and wicket-keeping consultant of the Mumbai Indians (MI) team.

“Mr. More is currently asymptomatic and has been isolated. Mumbai Indians and Kiran More have followed all the BCCI health guidelines. The MI medical team will continue to monitor Mr. More’s health and abide by the BCCI protocols,” MI tweeted ahead of IPL 2021.

Mumbai and the whole of Maharashtra are seeing a huge surge in COVID-19 positive cases in the last 2 months and the government had to impose night curfew and CrPC 144 in the daytime in order to restrict movement of common people and break the chain of virus spread.

The IPL 2021 has also seen many ground staff and even a couple of players testing positive for the COVID-19 virus before the tournament commences on April 9. Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium will host 10 matches with the first to be played on April 10 between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings.
