The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) is less than a week away, and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) looks like one of the strongest sides on paper. But skipper Eoin Morgan is not getting carried away and is maintaining that ‘cricket isn't played on paper.

The Kolkata-based franchise has not won the tournament since 2014 and skipper Morgan will be looking to end this trophy drought this year.

We have really strong chances this year. Having gone through the experience last year, my first year as captain, Brendon McCullum's first year as coach. Learning more and more about the players who would benefit us in a huge amount this year,” the left-hand batsman said.

The southpaw then talked to Sky Sports about how he is confident about his team by saying, “We are in a really strong position, we have guys fully fit at the moment and when you look down the line, particularly on paper, it (our team) looks pretty strong.

This year the tournament is scheduled in such a way that all the teams will be playing their games at neutral venues. Morgan believes that the franchise had a good auction this year and will have a lot of options at each venue.
