IPL 2021: Kolkata Knight Riders sign Gurkeerat Singh Mann as replacement for injured Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh will be unavailable for the entire season due to a knee injury.

Punjab batsman Gurkeerat Singh Mann is the latest inclusion to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squad for the 2021 edition of Indian Premier League (IPL).

Mann, 30, comes in as a replacement for Rinku Singh, who is ruled out of the entire season due to a knee injury.

"Kolkata Knight Riders have signed up Gurkeerat Singh Mann as replacement for batsman Rinku Singh, who will be unavailable for the entire season due to a knee injury," stated an IPL media release.

"Rinku, who made his IPL debut in 2017 has played a total of 11 IPL games. His replacement, Gurkeerat, last played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2020 before being released ahead of the IPL 2021 auction,” it added.

Knight Riders have roped in Gurkeerat at his base price of INR 50 lakh.

IPL 2020 is due to begin on April 9, with Mumbai Indians taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the tournament opener at Chepauk.

KKR will open their campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chennai on April 11.
