Taking to Twitter, the KL Rahul-led franchise shared a video, highlighting different parts of their latest jersey with the caption: “The wait is over! Reveal kar rahe hain assi, saddi new jersey”.

The kit predominantly has red colour with silver being the other shade. The logo of the team is printed on the left side while a lion features in the bottom half of the shirt.

Ahead of the IPL 2021 auction last month, the Punjab-based franchise changed their name from Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) to Punjab Kings.

"We just felt that we wanted to relook at things. We needed to rebrand and reinvent ourselves after so many years. As they say if something doesn't work, change it and try and get it working. Kings XI Punjab had a reference to the playing XI. Punjab Kings is more inclusive and will resonate better with the fans," PBKS co-owner Ness Wadia had told PTI in an exclusive chat.

IPL 2021 is due to begin on April 9, with defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the tournament opener at Chepauk.

Punjab Kings will open their campaign against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 12 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
