England fast bowler Jofra Archer may skip the upcoming 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) if reports from the Telegraph are to be believed. Archer plays for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL since the 2018 edition when he was bought for INR 7.20 crores.

Jofra Archer has been struggling with an elbow injury since the start of 2020, which had him ruled out of IPL 13 and he was only able to participate in the tournament after it got delayed to September due to COVID-19. He also missed a couple of Tests against India recently, due to the same problem.

The right-arm pacer is reportedly playing with pain as he wasn't even in contention to play the T20Is on the eve of the series-opener. The latest upset sort of confirms that he will not be playing the upcoming three-match ODI series as well, which starts March 23.

England's frontline pacer since his debut, Archer has 30 wickets in 17 ODIs and 14 in 11 T20Is. In 13 Tests, the 25-year-old has dismissed 42 batsmen.

His absence may come as a huge blow to Rajasthan Royals as they prepare for the IPL 2021. Archer has been their lead pacer with 46 wickets in 35 matches thus far in the IPL tournament.

Andrew Tye, Jaydev Unadkat, Kartik Tyagi, Mustafizur Rahman, Chetan Sakariya, Kuldip Yadav, and Akash Singh are other pacers in RR's squad.
