They also traded Robin Uthappa from Rajasthan Royals in an all-cash deal, bringing him in to replace Shane Watson as the opener.

CSK will then have a brigade of all-rounders to choose from but most probably will see Sam Curran, Moeen Ali, and Ravindra Jadeja being included in the playing XI. Amongst them, Ali and Curran can also open the innings for CSK as well.
CSK also has at its disposal the likes of Dwayne Bravo, Josh Hazlewood, and Lungi Ngidi as well, given some of the venues like Kolkata offer a lot of assistance to fast bowlers.
