Rajasthan Royals bought Chris Morris for a whopping price of 16.25 crores.
South Africa's Chris Morris, who became the costliest IPL buy ever, said that he is unbelievably happy and excited to join Rajasthan Royals for the upcoming IPL 2021 edition.
Having being impressed everyone with his performance in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal Challegers Banglore surprised everyone by releasing Chris Morris, who managed to pick up 11 wickets in 9 games at an economy rate of just 6.63 and played some crucial cameos with the bat.
However, in the mini-auction ahead of the 2021 edition of Indian Premier League which took place in Chennai, Chris Morris awestruck the entire cricket world by becoming the most expensive overseas player in IPL history.
Chris Morris, who started his IPL career with Rajasthan Royals in 2015 was bought by the same franchise at a whopping price of Rs 16.25 crore.
Addressing the same, Chris Morris said that he's unbelievably excited to join his former franchise Rajasthan Royals, and added that it's going to be a good season ahead with them.
"I started my cricket career in 2015 with Rajasthan so unbelievably happy, unbelievably excited for a very good squad and joining up with Rajasthan again. This is a very good experience, made lots of friend, lots of teammates in those year and so excited to joining after that many years. Yeah, it's going to be a good one," Chris Morris told Starsports.
Chris Morris has scalpped 80 wickets with ball at an economy of 7.81 and has scored 551 runs with bat at a strike rate of above 157 in 70 IPL matches he has played.
