Tamil Nadu batsman Shahrukh Khan was bought by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for Rs. 5.25 crore at the IPL 2021 auction. The uncapped player had set a base price of only Rs. 20 lakh.
Apart from the heavy price Shahrukh got, it was the reaction of Punjab owner Preity Zinta after buying him which attracted the fans. A section of Bollywood fans who love the pair of actors Shahrukh Khan and Zinta, which is fondly called 'Veer-Zara', saw what the reaction was about.
Zinta immediately turned to Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) table and made gestures with a smile on her face. She was telling them something which not audible to the viewers.
The official Twitter account of IPL shared the priceless reaction of the Punjab owner on Twitter. "When you get a certain "Shahrukh Khan" in your side ???????? @PunjabKingsIPL #IPLAuction," they wrote.
Talking about the batsman Shahrukh, it seems his knock for Tamil Nadu in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 quarter-final against Himachal Pradesh helped him get a buyer.
The 25-year-old had smashed 40* off just 19 balls to help his side chase down 136. They were five down at 66 at one stage. His knock included five fours and two sixes.
