There were seven all-rounders up for sale, the only Indian all-rounder, Kedar Jadhav went unsold. He had set his base price at INR 2 Cr but failed to get a buyer.

However, the set started off quite hot with Australia’s Glenn Maxwell being the first name. There was a healthy bidding war between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challenger Bangalore, which reached dizzying heights. Finally, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the bid with an INR 14.25 Cr price.
After losing the bidding war for Glenn Maxwell, Chennai Super Kings were successful in buying England all-rounder Moeen Ali, who got a final bid from CSK of INR 7 Cr.
England’s Dawid Malan, the no.1 ranked ICC T20I batsman, was bought at his base price by Punjab Kings for INR 1.50 crore.
However, the man who created history in the IPL 2021 auction was South African all-rounder Chris Morris. Morris started a dizzying bidding way which broke all previous records for overseas players as Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore went all out to buy him.
Ultimately, Morris found his home at Rajasthan Royals for INR 16.25 Cr, becoming the most expensive foreign player in IPL history, beating Australia’s Pat Cummins’ record of INR 15.5 Cr.
