Bangar has previously served Team India as a batting coach.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Wednesday (February 10) roped in former India cricketer Sanjay Bangar as batting consultant for the 2021 edition of Indian Premier League (IPL).

RCB announced the news via micro-blogging site Twitter as the franchise wrote: “We are delighted to welcome Sanjay Bangar to the RCB Family as a batting consultant for #IPL2021! Welcome aboard, Coach!”
Bangar has previously served Team India as a batting coach. He was associated with the national team from 2014 to 2019 in multiple stints.
Bangar's contract was not renewed by the BCCI after India’s exit from the World Cup 2019 semi-final.
RCB have quite a few shrewd minds in the team management. Last year, they had appointed Mike Hesson and Simon Katich as director of cricket operations and head coach, respectively.
The Virat Kohli-led side had qualified to the play-offs in the last year’s IPL in UAE. They have retained 12 and let go as many as 10 players ahead of the IPL 2021 auction, scheduled for February 18 in Chennai.
