Lasith Malinga feels that he thinks now is the right time to retire from all franchise cricket.

Mumbai Indians skipper, Rohit Sharma, and ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah commemorated Lasith Malinga’s retirement from the franchise cricket by sharing posts on social media.

Veteran Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga was among the four overseas players to be released by five-time Indian premier league champions Mumbai Indians, on Wednesday. The long association of 12 years between Lasith Malinga and Mumbai Indians finally came to an end as the-37-year-old pacer has decided to retire from the franchise cricket. 

Lasith Malinga retires from franchise cricket

Mumbai Indians skipper, Rohit Sharma, shared a post on his Instagram and said that Malinga’s presence around the squad will be missed. "One of the best the game has seen. Truly a match winner, his presence around the squad will be missed @mumbaiindians," Rohit Sharma posted.

Jasprit Bumrah, who often credits Lasith Malinga for assisting him with perfecting his blockhole delivery, congratulated Lasith Malinga on a successful IPL career through his Instagram handle and said that IPL won’t be same without him.
