Meanwhile, former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar has picked his best XI of the IPL 2020 on the basis of performances in the league phase.

Just like any IPL playing XI, Manjrekar went with the composition of four overseas and seven Indians cricketers.

In a video posted by ESPNcricinfo on Twitter, Manjrekar opted to go with KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal as his two openers. Both the KXIP openers had a great season with the bat. While Rahul is leading the runs tally with 670 runs from 14 innings, Agarwal amassed 424 runs from 11 innings.

Batting at No. 3 in Manjrekar’s team is MI’s Suryakumar Yadav followed by RCB’s AB de Villiers and KXIP’s Nicholas Pooran. All three batsmen played impactful knocks throughout the tournament in the middle overs.

Coming to the fast bowling department, Manjrekar selected RR’s Jofra Archer, MI’s Jasprit Bumrah and KXIPs’ Mohammad Shami. While Bumrah is the leading wicket-taker of IPL 2020 with 27 scalps, Archer and Shami claimed 20 wickets each in the tournament in 14 outings.

SRH’s Rashid Khan and RCB’s Yuzvendra Chahal featured in Sanjay’s team as premier spinners. Both the leggies were outstanding in the cash-rich league, with Chahal taking 21 and Rashid picking 19 wickets.

For his stellar all-round showing, Akshar Patel made it to Sanjay Manjrekar’s best IPL 2020 XI. The Delhi Capitals cricketer took 8 wickets in the league and scored 108 runs from 13 games.
