Jasprit Bumrah powered Mumbai Indians (MI) into the finals of the IPL 2020 after his career-best T20 figures helped down Delhi Capitals (DC) by 57 runs in Qualifier 1 in Dubai on November 5.

Bumrah picked 4/14 to restrict DC to 143/8 in 20 overs while chasing the 201-run target. This performance also got him the purple cap for most wickets in the ongoing IPL 13- 27 till now.

The performance was enough for Mumbai Indians bowling coach Shane Bond to term Bumrah, the “best T20 fast bowler in the world" and heaped rich praises on the fast bowler.

"Jasprit, it's a privilege to watch. The best T20 fast bowler in the world go about his work," Bond said in a video posted by Mumbai Indians on Twitter.

Bond also praised Trent Boult saying that "I've loved working with Trent since 2012. We've seen him at his very best and I was very excited to have him in our team. Because I know what a devastating bowler he can be and he has done that through this tournament for us."

Batting first after being sent in by DC captain Shreyas Iyer, MI lost Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard for ducks, but half-centuries from Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan and a late blitzkrieg from Hardik Pandya enabled them to post 200/5 in 20 overs.

Trent Boult then picked two wickets in the first over and then Bumrah dismissed Dhawan with a brilliant yorker to leave DC 0/3 in 1.2 overs. This was the first time ever in IPL that a team had lost three wickets for no run on the board.

Stoinis hit 65 as DC crawled their way to 143/8 in 20 overs. They will now face the winner of the eliminator between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad, for another chance to get into the finals.

Meanwhile, Bond also lauded the batting performance and said, "We are an intimidating batting line-up. You sit in the shed and it is just relentless. At 100/4, you felt that turn in the momentum. Delhi fought really hard through the middle of the innings and got themselves well back into the game. If they'd had a little bit more luck or perhaps been a little bit more accurate, we would have been under pressure at the back end."
