Delhi Capitals' (DC) bowler Mohit Sharma returned home from UAE after his father passed away back in India. The cricketer played just one game for the Capitals this season.

The 32-year-old heard about the unfortunate news of his father's demise and left for India before their first qualifier against the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI). Sharma played in DC's first game in IPL 2020 when they faced Kings XI Punjab in Dubai.

IPL 2020: Shreyas Iyer hoping big loss to MI in Qualifier 1 won't dent DC's confidence

He picked 1/45 in his 4 overs as the game ended in a tie. The Capitals won the Super Over and began their IPL 13 campaign on a high. During their Qualifier 1 fixture, the DC players were seen wearing back bands on their arms as a mark of last respect for Mohit's late father.

The Capitals lost Qualifier 1 to MI and will now play Qualifier 2 against the winner of the Eliminator between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Qualifier 2 will be played on Sunday, November 8.

Shreyas Iyer and his boys will have to pick their game up as both games will be extremely crucial for them here on. One loss will mean that their journey in IPL 2020 will come to an end. They will hope to win Qualifier 2 and enter their first-ever IPL Final.
