Former England captain and commentator Michael Vaughan has yet again showered rich praise on Mumbai Indians’ batting hero Suryakumar Yadav after another batting heroics with the bat in IPL 2020 Qualifier 1 against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Thursday (November 5) in Dubai.

Playing at No. 3, the 30-year-old has notched up his fourth fifty (38-ball 51) of the ongoing 13th season before being dismissed by Anrich Nortje and played a significant role in taking MI to a massive 200/5 after 20 overs against the Capitals in Dubai where they later won the game and book a place in the final.

Yadav is having a stellar IPL 2020 with the bat, scoring 461 runs, including four fifties, at an average of 41.90, and recently became the first uncapped player to play 100 IPL games. On Thursday, the Mumbai star has achieved another milestone, becoming the first uncapped player to score 2,000 runs in the IPL.

Given his brilliance with the bat in the ongoing IPL 13 in the UAE, Vaughan was full of praises for Suryakumar, describing the “wonderful player” as one of the best batsmen against the spin bowling he has ever seen, at least in the last 5-10 years.

Vaughan told Cricbuzz, “I think he is a wonderful player. I go far as to say that he is up there with the best players I have ever seen against spin bowling.”

He further explained, “The way he can maneuver the ball around the ground, 360 degrees, against any of the spinners. He makes it look so easy. He plays good bowling well - he’s got the gift of making quick bowling slower when they are now bowling slow.”

Vaughan signed off by saying, “He’s got calms about him - I like his body language, the way he plays. But the way he plays spin... there are not many better players against spin bowling than Yadav I have seen. There are lots of wonderful players for many, many years all around the world... but Yadav plays spin bowling as well as any of these players I have seen in the last 5-10 years.”
