The ongoing 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 was absolutely a forgettable season for three-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), but for pacer Lungi Ngidi, it offered a lot of learning opportunities to him in the UAE.

CSK led by MS Dhoni was the first team to get knocked out of the IPL 2020, thanks to early injuries at the camp and poor performance. However, the Men in Yellow managed to win their last three matches to make sure they won't finish as the bottom-most team in the points table in the league.

Well, the start of the IPL 13 wasn’t good at all for Ngidi too, as the South African speedster was dropped after two games, but he came back stronger and performed brilliantly lately, taking nine wickets in four matches with an economy of 7.69 in the tournament.

Ngidi told his CSK and Proteas teammate Faf du Plessis during an IPL chat after the match; “I learn a lot more this year than I did last year. This year was a bit more challenging.”

He further added, “Few games at the start didn't go the way I wanted to but I was able to work and finally got the opportunity again at the back end. So, yeah, a lot of learning this year.”

Noteworthy, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Du Plessis’ 62 and 48 respectively helped CSK beat KXIP by nine wickets at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Sunday to knock them out of the playoff race.
