MS Dhoni-led CSK got eliminated in the league stage for the very first time in IPL ever.
Cricketer-turned-commentator Danny Morrison questioned Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper, MS Dhoni, about his future ahead of the clash against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). It was a question that was brought up after every game of CSK as players were asking for Dhoni's jersey.
The speculation of Dhoni's retirement from IPL kept on increasing and Morrison ended it with a simple question. "Could this be your last game in yellow?", he asked. Dhoni responded, saying: "Definitely not."
When asked what made him brought up the question, Morrison said he asked it for his fans all over the world. "It was an obvious question. It's the end of the road of CSK this season and I think like a lot of cricket fans globally wanted to know. MSD, have you got another season in you?", Morrison told Star Sports.

The next IPL is just months away and that might have played a role in Dhoni's decision, feels Danny. The 39-year-old is still suitable to play the tournament as his fitness isn't affected by age much.
"The gift of what's going on amid all the sadness around the globe due to Covid is that the next IPL is scheduled to be played in next April or end of March, the normal window. So it's only 6 months away. So it's allowed MSD in a way 'I am fit enough, hungry enough'. Also, a lot of chat about the passing on the mantle and looking after the CSK legacy to go on, and he has been a huge part of it," Morrison said.
"So it's pleasing. It's always nice to try and get a smile from dear old MSD at the toss."
CSK took an exit from the tournament by finishing at number seven in the points table. They won 6 matches out of 14 and finished over Rajasthan Royals in the points table.
