KKR's Kuldeep Yadav has played only 5 games in the IPL 13.
As the ongoing IPL 2020 enters its crucial stage with each and every match a do-or-die for some of the franchises to qualify for the playoffs, Virender Sehwag has advised KKR to play Kuldeep Yadav against CSK to ensure winning 2 points on Thursday (October 29) in Dubai.
The chinaman spinner Kuldeep has been benched for most of the 13th season getting only 5 games (1 wicket) for the KKR in the UAE and Sehwag believes that the two-time IPL champions must go with Kuldeep instead of young Kamlesh Nagarkoti against CSK.
Since the 49th game of the ongoing IPL 13 against CSK is crucial for the KKR as they are looking to gain 2 points to move an inch closer to a playoff berth and former opener reckoned that playing Kuldeep in place of Nagarkoti could be a good move for the franchise the slow wicket Dubai.
Ahead of the CSK v KKR clash, Sehwag said on his Facebook show: “I fail to understand why Nagarkoti is in the team if he is not going to bowl his quota of 4 overs. It would be better to play Kuldeep instead. On a slow wicket, he will be a lot more dangerous for the batsman to play.”
He also pointed out that batting has been a major cause of concern for KKR in this season and they must fix it if the franchise wants to further progress in the ongoing IPL 2020 in the UAE.
Sehwag further explained, “While KKR is contenders in the race for the playoffs, they just aren’t able to score runs. So far, they have scored the least number of the fifties in the tournament. If you leave out a few innings where other batsmen have hit runs, Morgan and Gill are the only batsmen who have shown some consistency in scoring. The rest of the batsmen have failed.”
He signed off by saying, “Who will end this run of droughts? If Andre Russell is fit to play, then he should be given one more chance. Sunil Narine has never been consistent with the bat, and hasn’t been an effective bowler this season as well,”
