Mumbai Indians (MI) locked horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 48th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday (October 28).

Invited to bat first, RCB posted 164/6 in 20 overs on the back of Devdutt Padikkal’s 45-ball 74 and Josh Philippe’s 24-ball 33.

Jasprit Bumrah was the stand-out bowler for MI, claiming 3 wickets by conceding 14 runs in his four overs.

In reply, Mumbai lost their openers cheaply but Suryakumar Yadav once again stepped up to the plate for the defending champions.

Batting at No. 3, Suryakumar attacked the RCB bowlers from the outset. Although MI kept losing wickets at regular intervals, the stylish right-hander held the one end firmly and scored a dazzling half-century.

Thanks to Suryakumar’s 79 not out off 43 balls (10 fours and 3 sixes), Mumbai Indians eventually chased down the target in 19.1 overs with 5 wickets in hand.

Cricket fraternity lauded Suryakumar Yadav for his stellar batting display, which ensured Mumbai’s stunning victory.
