Wriddhiman Saha showed his class with a magnificent 45-ball 87 knock to help Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) beat Delhi Capitals (DC) in an IPL 2020 encounter by 88 runs in Dubai on Tuesday (October 27).

Everyone around there are just talking about the wicket-keeper batsman following his explosive innings for SRH in his only second game of the season and Saha revealed it was captain David Warner’s advice to play freely that did wonder for him from the start against the Capitals.

Saha started off his game with a boundary against the DC and went on to play a wonderful knock as well as added 107 runs with Warner (66) for the opening stand to power the SRH to 219/2 in Dubai.

Defending the total, Rashid Khan finished with the best bowling figures of 3/7 in 4 overs of this IPL 2020 while T Natarajan and Sandeep Sharma returned with 2 wickets each to restrict the Capitals to 131 in 19 overs to pull off a whopping 88-run win over top-ranked DC on Tuesday.

Saha told Rashid in a video posted by IPL on its official Twitter handle: “The first match I played, I had thought of how would I approach the game but, in this match, I didn't think much just asked David (Warner) how to approach and he said 'play feely' and I too like playing freely. Then we took chances in the first six overs and then we carried the momentum.”

Warner and Saha’s 107-run partnership was broken in the 10th over by Ravichandran Ashwin and then it was wicketkeeper-batsman took the charge to help SRH post its highest total in Dubai in the IPL 13.

He signed off by saying, “When David got out, I took over the charge and hammered the loose balls and converted them into boundaries.”

Noteworthy, SRH has now moved to the sixth spot in the points table with 10 points and will next lock horns against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Saturday.
