Opting to bat first, the defending champions piled up a massive 195/5 in 20 overs on the back of Hardik Pandya’s brutal 21-ball 60*, including 2 fours and 7 sixes. Suryakumar Yadav (40 off 26 balls) and Saurabh Tiwary (34 off 25 balls) also made significant contributions with the bat.
Shreyas Gopal (2-30) and Jofra Archer (2-31) were the pick of the bowlers for RR. Rahul Tewatia (0-25) was also economical with the ball.
In reply, the Royals overhauled the target in just 18.2 overs with 8 wickets in hand as the duo of Ben Stokes and Sanju Samson wreaked havoc on MI bowlers, sharing an unbroken 152-run stand from 82 deliveries.
In particular, Stokes was severe on Mumbai bowlers as he finished with 107 not out off 60 balls (14 fours and 3 sixes). Samson played the role of second fiddle to perfection, remaining unbeaten on 54 off 31 balls.
Cricket fraternity lauded Stokes for his whirlwind century which gave Rajasthan their fifth victory in the IPL 2020.
