Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the three-time IPL champions are almost out of the tournament this season after Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated them on Friday. MI won the match by 10 wickets and the loss has also nearly ended their journey this season before playoffs.

This is going to be the first season when CSK won't be playing the playoffs whenever they participated in IPL. It was tough for fans to digest the sudden downfall of the franchise, but they are standing by the team despite a tough outing.

Fans on social media started trending '#CSKForever' after 8th loss in 11 matches this season. Skipper MS Dhoni was also sad after the defeat, but fans backed him to continue playing for the franchise.

CSK were the runners-up in the last season and champions in IPL 2018. Their performance after coming back from the ban gave fans high hopes for this season too, although things were not going in their favor even before IPL started.

A couple of veteran cricketers, Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh pulled out of the tournament, while young guns Ruturaj Gaikwad and Deepak Chahar tested positive for COVID-19, putting the CSK camp under pressure. Apart from that injuries and fitness problems hampered CSK's season with Rayudu and Bravo getting injured at the wrong times.

But fans have faith in the franchise and they showed their love and support on Twitter with the trend.
