SRH move to 5th spot in the points table with 8 points.
The decision proved to be a good one as the slowish Dubai pitch hampered rapid run-scoring. Stokes (30), Samson (36), and Parag (20) were the main scorers as RR put on 154/6 in 20 overs. Jason Holder, who came into the SRH side in place of injured Kane Williamson picked 3/30. Vijay Shankar and Rashid Khan also picked one wicket each.
In reply, Jofra Archer gave RR the perfect start by removing Warner for 4 and Bairstow for 10. But then Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar came together and added 140* runs for the 3rd wicket. Pandey made 83* in 47 balls with 8 sixes and 4 fours, while Shankar remained unbeaten on 52 in 51 balls with 6 fours.
SRH crossed the victory line with 11 balls to spare and 8 wickets in hand. SRH moved to 5th place with 8 points from 10 games, while RR suffered 7th loss in 11 matches.
The Cricket fraternity was in awe of Manish Pandey’s brilliant knock and Shankar’s support as SRH won the match. They lauded the effort on Twitter and here are the best tweets.
