Maxwell played a valuable knock of 24-ball 32 during KXIP's successful chase.
Chasing 165 to win, KXIP were struggling at 56/3 before Nicholas Pooran (53 off 28 balls) and Glenn Maxwell (32 off 24 balls) shared a 69-run stand to guide the team over the line with an over to spare.

It was Maxwell’s highest score in this year’s IPL after he endured a tough time in the first half of the tournament.
"Glenn has been batting well in the nets. He is a great team man and we know the balance he brings to the table," Rahul said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
By virtue of this victory, KXIP have claimed the fifth position on the points table with 8 points from 10 games. They have defeated Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in their last three outings.
"The talk before the last couple of games was to beat two teams were at the top of the points table. I couldn't sleep after the last game. We could have finished it before and not allowed it to go into the super over. The game reminds us to stay humble. We would want to take the momentum forward and take it one game at a time," Rahul said.
Mohammad Shami was the stand-out bowler for Punjab, claiming 2 wickets by conceding 28 runs in his four overs.
"Shami was coming in after some confidence from the last game. Arshdeep bowled two overs in the powerplay and one over at the death. And he nailed 6 yorkers," said Rahul.
Kings XI Punjab will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their next game on Saturday (October 24).
