Delhi Capitals (DC) are sitting pretty at the top of the IPL 2020 points table with 14 points to their name. They are primed for a spot in the playoffs and will play Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in their next match on Tuesday.

Before this encounter, DC might have some good news in the form of keeper-batsman Rishabh Pant being available for this match. Pant has missed the last few matches, after injuring his hamstring on October 9, in a match against Rajasthan Royals. But it seems, he has gotten fit and may play against KXIP.

Speaking to ANI, a DC source said that Pant is fit to go after working hard on his grade 1 hamstring tear. But a final call will be taken after fitness tests before the game on Tuesday.

IPL 2020: "One day I'll get to do an interview in peace," says Ricky Ponting getting mimicked by Pant

He has been working closely with the physio and trainer and has completed sessions without any trouble and is fit. A final call is expected to be taken before toss but Pant is likely to play against Punjab,” the source said.

Alex Carey had been filling in for Rishabh Pant as the keeper, while Ajinkya Rahane was brought in place of Shimron Hetmyer to fit Carey in the playing XI.

Pant had on October 9 limped his way to complete the catch off Varun Aaron's bat as Delhi celebrated an emphatic win over Rajasthan at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Before that, he was seen struggling while reaching the wickets to take the throws from the fielders. But it (the injury) started with a sprint towards mid-wicket to stop a quick single earlier in the innings.
