Simply amazing with the ball in the win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) this Sunday (October 18), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Lockie Ferguson said he felt "pretty nervous" leading into his first game of the IPL 2020 in Abu Dhabi.

Ferguson first helped KKR restrict SRH to identical score (163/5 versus 163/6) with a terrific spell of 3/15 and then later delivered one of the finest super overs in recent history, dismissing opposition batters David Warners and Abdul Samad inside three balls for only 2 runs.

"I have been training and feel quite comfortable with bowing but obviously, I have not played in a while so I was pretty nervous," Ferguson told teammate Shubman Gill in a video posted over IPL's official Twitter handle.

"But fortunately, we have got such a great team and everyone backs each other and there is a lot of trust amongst each other," he added.

Ferguson did employ the slower ball, but mainly trusted his yorkers under pressure.

"I tried to keep it pretty simple what I was doing throughout the game. I was backing my yorkers and slower balls and fortunately, I got wickets which is always nice at that stage," said the New Zealand quick, whom KKR had bought at the IPL 2019 auction for INR 1.60 crores.

Positioned fourth in the points table after their fifth win in nine matches, KKR next take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Wednesday (October 21).
