Kings XI Punjab defeated Mumbai Indians in a thrilling Super Over at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai and registered their third win of the tournament while Mumbai Indians suffered their third loss.
Earlier Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bat first but they had a very poor start and by the end of power play, they lost Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Ishan Kishan for just 38 runs. Inform Quinton de Kock and Krunal Pandya added 58 runs for the fourth wicket and brought their team into the match.

In reply Kings XI Punjab also had a poor start and inform Mayank Agarwal got out for just 11 runs. Captain KL Rahul continued his good run and along with Gayle took the score to 75 runs. Rahul Chahar dismissed Gayle for 24 runs. Nicholas Pooran counter-attacked and smashed 2 sixes and 2 four in the first 7 balls but his innings didn't last long as Bumrah dismissed him for 24 runs. Glenn Maxwell failed once again and got out for a duck. KL Rahul was fighting at the other end but he too got out off Bumrah bowling and in the last over they needed 9 runs to win but Trent Boult gave only 8 runs and the match ended in a tie.
In Super Over Punjab batted first but Pooran, KL Rahul, and Deepak Hooda could manage only 5 runs off Bumrah bowling. Mumbai needed 6 runs to win but Mohammad Shami too bowled a tight over and gave only 5 runs to Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock.
And in the next Super Over Chris Jordan came to bowl for Punjab and he gave 11 runs to Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya and thus Punjab needed 12 runs to win. For Punjab, this time Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal came to bat, and for Mumbai, Boult bowled the super over. Gayle hit him for first ball six and then Mayank Agarwal hit two back to back fours and took their team home.
