Delhi Capitals beat Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah and registered their seventh win of the tournament while Chennai Super Kings suffered their sixth loss. 

Earlier Chennai Super Kings won the toss and opted to bat first. Opener Sam Curran got out for a duck in the first over. Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson rebuilt the innings and their 87 runs partnership set the platform for a good score. Faf du Plessis played a good knock of 58 runs. After 15 overs Chennai had 110 plus runs and in the final five overs Ambati Rayudu and Ravindra Jadeja changed their gears and scored around 70 runs and thus Chennai Super Kings finished on 179/4. Rayudu scored 45* runs off 25 balls while Jadeja played a good cameo of 33* off 13 balls. 

In reply, Delhi Capitals had a very poor start as Deepak Chahar dismissed Prithvi Shaw for two balls duck and Ajinkya Rahane for 8 runs and at 26/2 they were in trouble. Shikhar Dhawan continued to play his shots and added 68 runs for the third wicket with captain Iyer. Dhawan brought up his fifty. Shreyas Iyer, Marcus Stoinis, and Alex Carey got out at the other end. Dhawan smashed his maiden T20 hundred in the second last over and in the final over Delhi needed 17 runs to win which Axar Patel scored by hitting 3 sixes off Jadeja bowling.
