RCB made 171/6 in 20 overs thanks to late surge by Morris and Udana.
This time RCB captain Virat Kohli, who was playing his 200th match for the franchise, won the toss and chose to bat. RCB remained unchanged, while KXIP brought in Deepak Hooda, M Ashwin, and Chris Gayle.
Finch (20) and Padikkal (18) added 36 runs for the first wicket. But astonishingly, RCB team management promoted Washington Sundar and Shivam Dube over AB de Villiers. Sundar made 13 in 14 balls, while Dube made 23 in 19, while Kohli supported them with 39-ball 48 knock.

But the pressure to get going from ball one was too much for De Villiers and he made just 2 runs in 5 balls. Some pride was salvaged by Chris Morris and Isuru Udana as they thumped 24 runs in the last over from Mohammad Shami. They hit 3 sixes and 1 four in the over, taking RCB’s final score to 171/6 in 20 overs.
Shami (2/45) and M Ashwin (2/25) were the prime wicket-takers for KXIP.
But the burning question on everyone’s mind was “where was AB de Villiers?” when RCB lost their openers and had the chance to give Mr. 360 a chance to set in and go big in the last few overs. The Cricket fraternity asked this query on Twitter and we have some of the best tweets for you.
