Delhi Capitals (DC), who have already lost the services of leg-spinner Amit Mishra and fast bowler Ishant Sharma for the entire IPL 2020, were hit further when it was revealed that their star batsman-keeper Rishabh Pant, who missed their last match against Mumbai Indians, will be out of action for more matches.

A DC source confirmed to ANI that Pant has suffered a grade 1 tear of his hamstring. "He has a Grade 1 tear and it is not just a hamstring pull as was believed to be. He is under observation and we are hoping he gets fit quickly," the source said.

IPL 2020: "Hamstring strain" has put Rishabh Pant out for a week, says report

Alex Carey of Australia made his IPL debut and kept wickets against MI. Pant, on Friday, limped his way to complete the catch off Varun Aaron's bat as Delhi Capitals celebrated an emphatic win over Rajasthan Royals at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Before that, he was seen struggling with reaching the wickets for the throws from the deep as well. But it started with a sprint towards mid-wicket to stop a quick single earlier in the innings.

There have also been other injury scares with Ravichandran Ashwin hurting his shoulder during the first game of the tournament. Fortunately, it was not anything serious and the spinner was back in the team post-recovery.

DC is currently ranked second on the IPL 13 points table with 10 points and will face Rajasthan Royals on October 14 and Chennai Super Kings on Oct 17.
