Chahal finished with stunning spell of 1/12 in 4 overs against KKR.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) all-rounder Ben Stokes believes that Yuzvendra Chahal should have been awarded the Man of the Match instead of AB de Villiers for his stunning bowling performance in the 28th match of the ongoing IPL 2020 between RCB and KKR on Monday (October 12).
De Villiers has yet again shown his class with the bat in the 28th IPL 13 encounter at Sharjah, scoring an unbeaten knock of 73 off just 33 balls and then stitched an unbeaten partnership of 100 runs with RCB skipper Virat Kohli (33*) to help the franchise to post massive 194/2 against KKR.
Defending the total, Chris Morris and Washington Sundar scalped two wickets each to restrict KKR to 112/9 while Chahal has produced the incredible display with the bowl, as the wrist-spinner finished with a stunning spell of 1/12 in 4 overs to help RCB win the game by massive 82 runs in Sharjah.
After the game, De Villiers was given Man of the Match for his batting performance but the English star wasn’t agreed with it and took to Twitter to express his view on the same, as RR all-rounder believes that Chahal deserved this award for his tight spell against KKR.
Stokes wrote on Twitter on 12 October: “In a batters game @yuzi_chahal should get MOM here, incredible figures especially as it’s in Sharjah.”
Noteworthy, Chahal has so far scalped 10 wickets and he is on the fifth place in the leading wicket-takers list for IPL 2020. RCB is currently at the third position in the points table and will next take on Kings XI Punjab on October 15 in their next encounter in the ongoing IPL 2020.
