Gayle has recovered from the stomach bug which kept him out of action for about a week.
Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) opener Chris Gayle is reported to have recovered from the stomach bug. Gayle fell sick at the wrong time as he might have been in the XI a couple of KXIP matches ago but had to be admitted to a hospital for treatment.
The confirmation of his recovery was given by KXIP's official website. They also mentioned that Gayle is back on the training ground.
IPL 2020: Chris Gayle striking the ball well, will have a huge role to play for KXIP, says KL Rahul

This will be a huge boost for KXIP who are reeling at the bottom of the points table and their batting has been blamed for not being fast enough to score runs. KXIP skipper KL Rahul has been criticized for playing with a Strike Rate lower than expected and that is hampering the results for the side.
Gayle is someone who can bring in the quick runs at any point in the innings and with the self-proclaimed 'Universe Boss' in the side, the Kings XI will be a stronger side on the field. It is expected that the 41-year-old will play the next game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on October 15, but we will only know whether he plays or not after the toss.
