De Villiers and Kohli shared an unbeaten stand of 100 from just 47 deliveries.
Opting to bat first, RCB got off to a flying start as the duo of Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal added 67 runs for the opening wicket in just 7.4 overs. Andre Russell drew the first blood for KKR as he cleaned up Padikkal for 23-ball 32.
Finch then shared a 27-run stand with skipper Virat Kohli and Prasidh Krishna broke the partnership by removing the former for 37-ball 47.
Afterwards, it was all about RCB’s domination, courtesy AB de Villiers’ batting masterclass. Coming to bat at No. 4, De Villiers wreaked havoc on KKR bowlers from the outset.
Kohli (33* off 28 balls) was a mere spectator at the other end as De Villiers slammed 73 not out off 33 balls to take RCB to a mammoth 194/2 in 20 overs. His sublime knock was laced with 5 fours and 6 huge sixes.
The pair of De Villiers and Kohli also shared an unbeaten stand of 100 from just 47 deliveries, out of which 83 runs came in the last 5 overs.
Cricket experts were left speechless after seeing AB de Villiers’ batting exhibition against the Knight Riders.
