Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) star batsman Rahul Tripathi said playing and performing in front of Shah Rukh Khan, iconic Bollywood actor and KKR co-owner was a 'dream come true' for him after his blistering knock helped the franchise to outclass Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 match in Abu Dhabi.

In the 21st Match of the ongoing IPL 2020 on Wednesday (October 7), KKR picked Tripathi as an opener for the CSK clash and the right-hander also grabbed the opportunity with both hands, as he went all guns blazing cracking a Man of the Match knock of 81 off 51 to power KKR to 167.

Later, the bowlers successfully defended the total with the help of cumulative bowling performance as KKR won the game by 10 runs against CSK.

Notably, the 29-year-old did not play the first 3 matches of IPL 2020 but he impressed with a quickfire thirty against Delhi Capitals at No. 8 last week and got the chance to steal the show against CSK on Wednesday in the ongoing IPL 13.

Tripathi said at the post-match presentation after the match: Something like a dream come true for me. Was prepared for both the roles (opener and finisher). Thought the ball was coming nicely, so I thought we should keep up the scoreboard which is why those shots came out, nothing special, Shubman was also hitting the ball well. The IPL has been quite a journey. I have loved this journey and coming to KKR is special. Performing in front of Shahrukh sir is very special. It's a dream come true.”
