The IPL 2020 has seen its fair share of injuries affecting the franchises and the unfortunate trend has hit the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise the most. First, they lost their premier all-rounder in Australia’s Mitchell Marsh in their very first match of the tournament.

Marsh had hurt his ankle while bowling his first over for SRH against Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was unable to complete the over and was seen hobbling out to bat at no.10. SRH already replaced him with Jason Holder.

But in a bigger blow to them, SRH lost the services of their strike bowler and former captain, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, as well, as he suffered a hip injury in their victory over CSK a couple of days ago. Kumar was also unable to complete his over and had to return to the dressing room. Scans confirmed the worse and SRH said that they would seek a replacement.

Now they have named Prithvi Raj Yarra, the left-arm Andhra pacer as Bhuvneshwar’s replacement for the rest of the IPL 2020. Yarra has played 2 matches for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2019 and picked one wicket before being released ahead of the IPL 2020 season.
