SRH defeated CSK by 7 runs after posting 164/5 on the board.
SRH eventually rode on Priyam Garg’s 51 off 26 balls and Abhishek Sharma’s 24-ball 31 to post 164/5 in 20 overs. The pair of Priyam and Abhishek shared a 77-run stand for the fifth wicket when Sunrisers were reeling at 61/4.
For CSK, Deepak Chahar was the stand-out bowler, claiming 2 wickets by conceding 31 runs in his four overs.
Defending the total, SRH reduced CSK to 42/4. Although the duo of MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja added 72 runs for the fifth wicket, they were quite slow in their approach and failed to keep the required run-rate under check.
CSK needed 51 runs off 14 balls when Jadeja got out after scoring 35-ball 50. Sam Curran then joined Dhoni in the middle and the duo tried their best by smashing 36 runs off the last two overs but CSK eventually fell 7 runs of the target. While Dhoni remained unbeaten on 36-ball 47, Curran finished with 15 not out off 5 balls.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of the bowlers for Sunrisers, taking 1 for 20 in his 3.1 overs. While T Natarajan gave away 43 runs in his four overs, he got the prized scalp of Ambati Rayudu and Jadeja.
