The 13th match of the ongoing IPL 2020 was played between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. KXIP won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Rohit Sharma starred with 70 off 45 balls with 8 fours and 3 sixes and also completed 5,000 runs in IPL, becoming the 3rd batsman to do so after Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina. Their innings got some boost when Pandya made 30* in 11 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes, while Pollard smashed 47* in 20 balls with 4 sixes and 3 fours to his name, as MI ended on an impressive 191/4 in 20 overs.

KXIP needed a quick start by KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal, but the duo failed with Mayank making 25 and Rahul making 17. Nicholas Pooran tried his best with 44 in 27 balls with 2 sixes and 3 fours, while others like Nair (0), Maxwell (11), and Neesham (7) ) failed to get some momentum in the innings, as they faced some great bowling by the MI unit.

Gowtham hit some lusty blows in the death making 22 off 13 balls. Rahul Chahar picked 2/26 and Pattinson picked 2/28, while Bumrah also made a brilliant comeback picking 2/18.

MI won the match by an impressive 48 runs as KXIP finished on 143/8 in their 20 overs’ quota.

The Cricket fraternity were all praises for the exemplary performance from the MI team, who are now no.1 in the points table with 4 points from 4 games and an NRR of 1.094.
