Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Kieron Pollard recently become the first MI player to feature in 150 IPL matches. Pollard achieved the feat when Mumbai locked horns with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Abu Dhabi.

After a successful game, Pollard received a call from team owner Nita Ambani. She congratulated him for the milestone and also added that his performance against KKR was outstanding.

Pollard was given three overs against Knight Riders and he conceded just 21 runs to pick a wicket. After getting lauded by Nita, the Caribbean cricketer slipped in a joke.

He replied that the team management and captain Rohit Sharma finally trusted his bowling after the team data performance manager, Dhananjay showed them his bowling data.

On Friday, MI posted a video on its official Twitter handle and wrote, “From the #MI Dressing Room: Mrs. Nita Ambani dialed in to congratulate Polly on his 150th @IPL appearance for MI."

MI head coach Mahela Jayawardena was all praise for the West Indies cricketer over his achievement. “Polly is someone that everyone looks up to. He plays with a lot of passion and you see that with him whichever franchise he plays for but he has that soft spot for MI being here for a long time.

"A senior pro, who leads by example, and if you see his contribution, he plays a very tough role for us on the playing field. It’s not an easy job when you have to change the game in those few overs, which he has done many times", he said.
