Archer scored 27* off 8 balls against CSK on Tuesday.
England’s star speedster Jofra Archer brilliantly made his presence felt with his all-round display in the 4th match of the ongoing IPL 2020 between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday (September 22).
Archer went out all guns blazing when he came out to bat in the death overs against the CSK, launching a stunning assault on the South African pacer Lungi Ngidi in the last over of the RR innings, hitting four consecutive sixes in the last over to take RR to 7-216 after starting the final over on 186.
His hitting was as clean as whistle, as the fast-bowler picked Ngidi’s slower balls brilliantly by rocking back into his crease and smashing them for monstrous sixes towards the on-side.
The English star scored 27 runs off just 8 balls with the help of 4 sixes at a staggering strike-rate of 337.50 to play a significant role alongside Captain Steve Smith (69) and Sanju Samson (74) in RR’s 16-run win over CSK in their IPL 2020 opener at the famous Sharjah on Tuesday.
Following his fabulous display against the CSK, Archer has yet again grabbed the headlines for his ability to 'predict' the future as his old tweet about his magical performance has once again gone viral on social media – which suggested that the cricketer already knew about his exploits before he even did it.
One of the old tweets reads: “I count six shots” suggesting that he could play six different shots on six different deliveries. However, the English star didn’t play different shots but hit four consecutive sixes for RR against the strong CSK bowling attack in the ongoing IPL.
