Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in their opening encounter of the IPL 2020 in an exciting match that ended in a tie and had to be decided via super over. The hero for DC proved to be Marcus Stoinis who pushed his team’s score past 150 with a fiery half-century.

Then came Kagiso Rabada, who bowled an excellent super over, restricting KXIP to 2 runs by removing both their batsmen. However, they did get a huge scare from Mayank Agarwal who made 89 runs and got out on the penultimate of the last over.

Another unsung hero of the DC camp was R Ashwin, who bowled just one over, but picked two wickets to put brakes on their scoring. Unfortunately, he hurt his shoulder while trying to dive to stop a shot and had to leave the field with the physio. He was seen in the dressing room with his shoulder in a sling.

However, Ashwin took to Twitter to thank his fans for the love, wishes, and support and also gave an update on his condition.

I was in pain as I left the field last night, but the pain has settled down and the scan reports are pretty encouraging too. Thanks for all your love and support,” Ashwin tweeted.

DC will next play CSK on September 25 in Dubai and it remains to be seen if Ashwin plays that match or not.
