However, virtual cricket fans will take part across the three venues in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah to ensure that the atmosphere remains electrifying during the games.
According to a report published in India Today, the BCCI has decided to set up four fan walls across the three stadiums that will create a vibrant atmosphere for the players.
There will be the thunderous applause after every boundary, and the ‘roar’ of the crowd at the fall of a wicket.
The report also says that the Indian board in association with BookMyShow has set up a system where fans who want to be present virtually, can login and register with the website.
For an entire match, 96 slots have been given to each of the two teams. With the number of fans expected to go higher, there will be a lot system to select the lucky ones who will adorn the fan walls at the venue.
Moreover, selected fans will have to give an undertaking that they will be present right through the duration of the match.
Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will take Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2020 opener on Saturday (September 19).
