As usual, eight teams are taking part in it. Defending champions Mumbai Indians are once again the favorite for the title and some other teams like Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore too are expected to give a good fight.

Kings XI Punjab who hasn't won the IPL title yet has made a few changes in their squad as well as management. Anil Kumble is the new head coach of the team and opener KL Rahul will be leading them for the first-ever time and team will hope this Rahul - Kumble pair will take them to new heights.

They have also added a few good players like Sheldon Cottrell, Chris Jordan, K Gowtham, Glenn Maxwell, and Ishan Porel and all of them are match winners of this format so they're a strong side and will challenge for the title this time.
